For all Excellence

Welcome to
William Bradford
Community College

Welcome

Imagine teaching in a rural organisation with the calm adult atmosphere of a college and the support of a small friendly school where the vision to achieve excellence for all is rapidly becoming a reality.

A specialist Technology school recently recognised as one of the most improved schools in the country, results at Key Stage 4 improved from 49% in 2008 to 87% in 2010 (5A*-C at GCSE). Justly proud of this achievement our small specialist team of committed staff has big ambitions for the students who we serve and further improvements were realised in core subjects this year.

Our students, aged between 14-19, are responding well to changes that have been introduced over the lass three years. Visitors to the school regularly remark that our students are bright, polite cooperative and big hearted. Relationships are characterised by mutual respect and are positive. Students trust staff because they are listened to carefully as the school improves and develops its provision in partnership with local schools, FE Colleges and Universities.

Committed to excellence for all, we have embraced the Government’s exhortation to focus on standards in core subjects.

Should you join us, you would find that this is a high achieving school which is led by determined leadership that has a ‘can do’ approach to improvement for students.

Importantly, aiming to transform lives through education is not merely a lofty ideal at WBCC, we don’t want to settle for second best here, so expectations of staff are high.

These expectations are matched only by our commitment to the provision of career development opportunities for staff who strive to improve their professional skills so that students thrive in our care.

Colleagues who speak directly to you on the video reference these opportunities. They note, in particular, our work with local universities, the TDA and R.A.T.L. projects with other schools both at home and abroad.

I look forward to meeting with you if you decide that the post advertised at William Bradford is for you.
