Westminster C OF E Primary School opened its doors for the first time in September 2005 as a new Fresh Start School. In 2007 the school successfully completed Fresh Start with an OFSTED inspection which described it as “a good school with an inclusive ethos”.
Since then the school has grown and currently has 370 pupils from Nursery through to year 6 drawn from a mix of ethnic backgrounds. 70% of pupils are of Pakistani Muslim origin, 25% white British with a small number of Hindu, Sikh, Eastern European and Afro Caribbean children making up the remainder.
Our school is housed in a new modern building, which has helped enhance teaching and learning and create a supportive learning environment. Each classroom benefits from state of the art inter-active whiteboards and good ICT provision. Good provision of resources supports the delivery of a curriculum designed to be exciting, interesting and relevant to the children whilst raising standards of achievement and attainment.
The school is central to its community and provides education of the highest quality based on Christian values whilst respecting and celebrating the beliefs of others. Staff and parents are encouraged to work in partnership for the benefit of the children, supporting our commitment to giving them the knowledge, skills and confidence to make the very best they can of their lives.
The school regards it staff as its most important resource and is committed to supporting the individual professional development of all employed within it. We provide and happy, supportive and vibrant place in which to work, where all are valued and treated with respect and care. In return we expect staff to share our commitment to achieve the best for our children who we regard as the most important part of our school.
