About Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
Solihull MBC is a unitary authority that is currently rated as a “good” council by the Audit Commission, which performs well when compared with other councils across the country. There are excellent schools, clean streets, nationally approved standards for our parks, and some of the best libraries in the country. But there is still a drive to improve services. The council works with a number of partners to offer the best services possible and ensure investment in the Borough. Solihull MBC plays a significant part in ensuring the economic vitality of the borough and the region, for example through the support given to new and existing businesses.
The council places its customers at the heart of its activities and tries to provide services that meet people's needs, are of a high quality and delivered in a cost effective way. The council is clear about where it is heading, thanks to the involvement of local people and staff. This is set out in the Vision. There are also a number of medium term goals, called Customer Outcomes and ten priorities; which again have been influenced by local people and council employees.
Our Vision
Where well-being, pride and quality of life are enjoyed by all
The council Vision was launched in May 2002 - Solihull a place where well-being, pride and quality of life are enjoyed by all. Like all large organisations it's important that we have a clear focus on what we ultimately want to achieve as a Council.
Our Brand
Open, Honest, Approachable, Keeping our promises
And in everything we do we want to treat you in an open, honest and approachable way and we work hard to keep any promises we make to you.
Customer Outcomes
Outcomes are the medium term goals for the council and represent key issues that are being addressed as part of the progress towards delivering the overall vision. The outcomes are:
- A Brighter Future for our Children and Young People
- A Sustainable Improved Quality of Life
- Closing the Gap of Inequality
- To be Treated as an Individual
- Good Value Services
Within each Outcomes there are Priorities - areas where energies are focussed, based on feedback from local people and staff.
Priorities
