Background

On 1st October 2006 South Cheshire College’s commercial arm came under the auspices of the existing registered ‘company’ South Cheshire Enterprises Ltd. For 2006/07 South Cheshire Enterprises expanded its existing portfolio which until then included the College Shop and the Travel Centre to embrace a Conference/Theatre facility, the Student Restaurant and a new area ‘Enterprise Contracts’. For 2007/08 the South Cheshire College Board awarded the college’s cleaning contract to SCEL. The range of South Cheshire Enterprise Ltd activities for 2008/09 is now:

• Shop
• Travel Centre
• Student Restaurant – Café Chill
• College Conference/Theatre Facility
• College enterprise/ training contracts
• Cleaning contract with South Cheshire College

Company Purpose

The purpose of the expanded South Cheshire Enterprises is to:

• Provide a range of high quality services and products for the students, staff and community of South Cheshire
• Provide a commercial ‘enterprise contracts’ function able to draw on the services of specialist associates in the delivery of high quality local, national and international commercial enterprise contracts
• Operate all services in a professional, commercial manner such that excess income  generated can be used to enhance the educational facilities of South Cheshire College
• Provide students of South Cheshire College with a range of high quality, work-based, education, training and enterprise opportunities, which will enhance their personal and employability skills.
