Every year the NHS conducts a national staff survey; when it comes to recommending the Trust as a good place to work, our staff rate us in the top 20% nationally.
Working for the Trust offers not only a rewarding career, but also a range of benefits as part of our reward package including:
As an employer we are committed to offering every staff member the opportunity to develop their career and rewarding them for the work they do. We are committed to equal opportunities and diversity and we are working to make these a reality for every one of our employees.
We have a large library, available 24 hours a day for studying. We have a wide collection of books, journals, CD’s, databases etc. Nine computers are available with Internet access as well as two colour printers and a scanner. A security and surveillance system is in place.

They can be contacted by phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for completely independent, confidential and off site professional counselling and referrals.
The Occupational Health team is lead by a Consultant Occupational Health Physician and employs Doctors, Nurses and a Staff Physiotherapist. The department works within an ethical framework and provides a confidential and independent advisory service.
We are constantly seeking more creative solutions to staffing issues and responding to the needs of parents who, to some extent, have to fit their lives around their childcare responsibilities. We have many family friendly policies, such as reduced hours working in its various forms.
We have implemented a self rostering software system (Optimize) designed to help all staff, not just parents, to accommodate their domestic/personal needs whilst recognising the needs of the service.
The Trust has been awarded the Improving Working Lives (IWL) ‘Practice’ Standard proving that we are making real improvements to the working lives of our staff.

The trust has its own Intranet site including sections on policies and procedures, department information, job vacancies, and a very popular notice board for advertising things for sale and recommending services, restaurants etc.
The Trust Website (www.royalberkshire.nhs.uk) has lots of information for patients plus all the latest news around the Trust. It contains links to other sites of interest to anybody considering moving to the area.
