These testimonials from satisfied partnership schools speak for themselves.
Like many schools across the country the recruitment of teaching has historically been done by the school through direct advertising in the TES, local newspapers and the Swindon bulletin. Last year I was approached by Hays with an innovative way of recruiting staff whereby they took over the administration of the recruitment process and supported us in ensuring the best possible candidate was recruited.
From the start the Hays staff listened carefully to the specifications required and spent time with me understanding the ethos and vision of our school. They produced an excellent website to attract candidates. Once the recruitment process was in full flow they ensured all the correct checks were followed through and I was confident in the fact that the process ensured we adhered to the Safer Recruitment in Schools protocols.
Applications to the teaching post proved popular and we had a strong field of candidates to interview, and made a very successful appointment. The time cost savings to my administration team and I were significant.
Throughout the process Hays worked very hard for us and we found the experience so good we used them again when recruiting for an admin post.
I will continue to use Hays for all my permanent recruitment and would have no hesitation in recommending Hays to schools who wish to recruit via this way.
Hays have done a lot to promote the School outside the normal traditional method of advertising in the Times Education Supplement. This has included, for example, attending recruitment fairs and organising recruitment days at the School. We are excited about the appointments we made and confident that the quality of teaching and learning will continue to improve. I am really impressed that by the end of March we are almost fully staffed for September, which is the earliest this has ever happened.
Willowgarth will be fully staffed from September 2009, for each of the vacancies we have had the opportunity to select from a field of appropriately qualified and viable candidates.
Additionally, but just as importantly, the administration of the process has moved from the school to the Hays Team to release Willowgarth staff to concentrate on the qualitative component of selecting the best candidate without having to deal with the associated bureaucratic and time consuming paperwork.
Working with Hays we have recruited staff to a range of permanent positions from Assistant Head Teacher to Teaching Assistants…the quality of our staff appointments has risen to a consistently high standard. This has had positive impact on all aspects of our school life.
The service provided by Hays also reduces the admin burden on the school office related to staff appointments and Hays are able to give time, attention and individual interest to potential candidates that a school office is often unable to offer. I have no hesitation in recommending their services to others.
Park View Business and Enterprise school have now worked in partnership with Hays over the past 3 years with regards to recruitment of staff both permanent and temporary, Teachers and Teaching Assistants. I have found them at all times to be approachable, professional and responsive to the needs of the school. I would highly recommend them to you.
This arrangement has allowed the school to concentrate on its core purpose, whilst Hays have managed the recruitment process from start to finish. This has taken a significant amount of pressure away from the school. The arrangement is highly effective, conducted in a professional manner and is a model worthy of replication in schools in similar circumstances to our own.
It was a big decision for a smaller school to make to put our recruitment into the hands of Hays, but it has been one which has helped us in many ways. Already we have been in the position of having to look for some difficult appointments at a tricky time of year to appoint and yet have been very impressed by the range of candidates that have been brought to us. To have the confidence of knowing that all legal checks have been completed thoroughly helps considerably, as does knowing that chasing up referees is someone else’s concern. The team at Hays work together very efficiently and personally with you and keep busy staff, like myself, on track when decisions need to be made. Advice, consideration and concern are all genuine and you very quickly build up an effective working relationship with the team and in particular with your own Account Manager. I have been very pleased with the successful appointments we have made and feel confident that I am prepared for future vacancies that arise.
