Orbit Housing Association was established in 1967 to develop general rented and sheltered rented accommodation.

Orbit Bexley Housing Association was created in 1998 when 4,500 homes were transferred from the London Borough of Bexley.
Thanet Community Housing Association joined the Group in 2004, providing homes in East Kent.
