PAUL ATKINSON comments on 2 years teaching in Moscow
I had been working as a supply teacher with Hays for a number of years and during the Christmas period of 2006 I decided to look for an International post through Hays.
I was offered a variety of places in Europe and the Middle East. For some strange reason, Moscow seemed to appeal to me. As soon as I expressed interest I was put into contact with a headteacher at the school. I was interviewed over the telephone and he kept me updated with all the things I would need to do before Ii boarded the plane and set off for my ' adventure ' .
At first I found it very challenging to fit into the school as I was joining half way through the academic year. I am into my second year now and have just given my intention to stay for another two years.
All in all it has been a very worthwhile venture. The class sizes are small, Children actually want to learn, the staff are great and the city is amazing!
