Welcome to the Homes in Havering Careers site.

Homes in Havering (HiH) is the Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) for the London Borough of Havering. HiH is responsible for the management of all council housing stock within the borough. All of the income and surpluses generated by the organisation are used to provide and improve services for residents.

Mission Statement

"At Homes in Havering, we will deliver decent homes and excellent services; we will help to create sustainable communities, where residents are proud to live, work and play; and we will become an employer of choice."

To deliver this mission statement we have also adopted six overarching values which taken with five strategic themes, encompass our business aims and provides a balanced picture of the activities we seek to pursue. Our overarching values are to:

Areas of Responsibility

Homes in Havering is responsible for the day-to-day management of the properties, including improvements and repairs to tenants' homes. The Council is still the landlord and all tenants' rights, such as the Right to Buy, remain the same. Tenants are still secure tenants of the London Borough of Havering.

Some Facts and Figures

• 10,411 tenanted homes, 2,207 leasehold properties and 2,830 garage
• Agreed budget for 2009/10 £23.3 million, including a management fee of £19.2 million. The budget has been constructed to ensure that two stars are achieved at inspection in September 2009.
