Location: Thorn Office Centre, Holme Lacy Road, Rotherwas, Hereford HR2 6JT

Salary: Paid monthly on the 25th day of the month, directly into your bank or building society account.

Appointment subject to:

  • Satisfactory references
  • Medical clearance by Occupational Health following completion of medical questionnaire
  • Validation of qualifications (copies of relevant certificates to be supplied for personnel file)
  • Asylum and Immigration checks

Probationary Period: Six months for employees new to local government.

Superannuation: Local Government Pension Scheme - final salary with 6% employee contribution.

Hours of work: Full-time (37 hours per week). Your post requires that you work such hours as are considered necessary to effectively carry out your role. There may be a requirement to attend evening meetings, from time to time.

Political restriction: This post is Politically Restricted under the provisions of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

Car allowance: Mileage rates are paid when you use your car for business purposes; this is currently 40 pence a mile (or 45 pence when you provide transport for a colleague). The Council also operates, subject to eligibility, a car loan scheme and a car lease scheme.

Relocation expenses: The Council's relocation scheme assists new employees with the expenses associated with moving to the County.

Professional fees: The Council will pay the membership fees of one relevant professional body.

Computer loan scheme: This scheme enables employees who use a PC as part of their work to have an interest-free loan for the purpose of purchasing a computer.

Discounted leisure facilities: Employees of the Council are eligible for discounted use of local leisure facilities.
