The role of Director is offered as a permanent appointment to the Senior Civil Service (SCS) at Pay Band 1 level. Applicants who would prefer to be considered on secondment should indicate this in their application.
The post will be SCS Pay Band 1 level with a salary of circa £80,000, with the opportunity to earn an annual performance related increase and a non‑consolidated bonus. A higher starting salary may be available for an exceptional candidate.
Applicants currently holding a permanent post in the Civil Service should note that, if successful, their salary on appointment would normally be determined by applying the usual Cabinet Office salary progression rules.

DCSF is based on four sites, London, Sheffield, Runcorn and Darlington.
Deputy Directors of Finance - The successful applicants could be based in any of the sites (please note that regular travel to London will be required for non London-based individuals). Personal preference will be factored into the final decision on where individuals will be based.
Head of Internal Audit - The location of this post will be London or Sheffield (please note that regular travel to London will be required for Sheffield-based individuals.)While in post there will be certain restrictions on political activities. Candidates should also note that there may be restrictions placed upon their ability to move to some business appointments once they have left this position.
There will be 30 days paid annual leave plus 10½ days public and privilege holidays.
