About CoRWM

The Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CoRWM) provides independent scrutiny and advice to UK Government and Devolved Administration Ministers on the long-term management of radioactive waste, including storage and disposal. The Committee’s priority task is to provide independent scrutiny on the UK Government’s and Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s high profile programme to deliver geological disposal, together with interim storage, for higher activity wastes.

Details of the work in which CoRWM is currently involved, as well as their previous reports and position papers, are available at corwm.decc.gov.uk

CoRWM comprises a Chair and up to 14 members. The Chair and members reflect different backgrounds and are not mandated representatives of organisations or sectoral interests. As part of a cycle of appointments to the Committee, the positions of Chair and several members become vacant from 1 November 2012. This website explains how you can apply for the role of CoRWM member.
