Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a job?

All of the live vacancies are listed on our opportunities page.  Simply search through the jobs, click on the one you’re most interested in and if you wish to apply, follow the simple steps on screen.  You will be asked a series of questions to help us process your application, but you will not be asked to complete an application form.  We require a CV and a covering letter (optional) from prospective candidates.

I require information in a different format, what should I do? I do not wish to apply online; can I request an information booklet in hard copy format?

Yes – please contact our account management team on 0113 2468288 or by email on cmec@hays.com

Can I just send you my CV?

Yes – if there are no specific vacancies you wish to apply for, you can submit your CV as general interest.

What can I expect after submitting my application?

When you have submitted your CV in interest to a particular role, you will be automatically sent an email giving you details of the process (including advertising closing date), when you should expect to hear back if your application has been successful and when interviews with Hays are expected to be scheduled.

You will undertake assessment tests as part of the selection process – the nature of the tests will depend on the role you’re applying for and you will be given full instruction on these.

The final stage will be a panel interview with the Commission.

How many vacancies are there?

Hays are recruiting in the region of c.200 vacancies for the Commission over the next 9 months. This may change throughout the course of the project.

How will I know if I have been short listed?

Do you have a register for people interested in employment with the Commission?
