Message from Howard Gilfillan – The Headteacher

The School has changed dramatically over recent months and is now making rapid progress. All staff are committed to the new vision, which emphasises the expectation that all pupils can achieve their potential, and beyond. Teaching and learning are at the centre of the changes with all teachers expected to plan lessons that will challenge all pupils. Increased investment in the school has been made in relation to classroom / teaching resources. The school has also invested in its staff by implementing the workforce agreement ahead of schedule and by providing extra support and administrative staff.

Branksome is also emerging as a major player in community activity, engaging considerable support from local community groups. Branksome is also a collaborative school that welcomes all partners who wish to support its drive to raise standards of achievement. The School is also preparing a bid for Specialist school status for October 2005.
