Approximately 90 highly qualified, native speaking lectures teach across seven schools as well as a number of other teachers and assistants all with a full teaching qualification and where necessary with a formal English as a Second Language teaching qualification. The School has an excellent provision for pupils with English as a second language.
Children of approximately 78 different nationalities study in BISM bringing richness and variety to the educational experience of all at the school. English is spoken around the school and is the language for all teaching. Our different schools offer a wide range of languages including French, Spanish, Russian, German, Japanese, Dutch and others.
The curriculum at the school is based upon the English National Curriculum. The class sizes are small enough to allow for the curriculum to be adapted to meet the specific needs of all children regardless of their background. Those children who need specific support with their English are provided with an individually tailored ESL support programme.
The qualifications offered throughout the school are transferable to most educational systems internationally. Students with IGCSE (International General Certificate of Education)- Cambridge Board, languages and music - EDEXCEL (see www.cie.org.uk), A-levels (Advanced Level) or the IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate) are able to enter universities in all parts of the world.
All of the schools are extremely well resourced with teaching and learning materials. The School has first class information technology provision, its own sports hall, good library facilities, and well equipped science laboratories.

The British International School at Rosinka is the newest of our schools. This is a nursery and infant school catering for pupils from 2,5 up to 10 years of age. The school provides for all early years care and education as well as Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 of the English National Curriculum.
Children study in the Primary School starting with the Early Years Programme (Nursery & Reception, 3-5 years old) and then from Year 1 up to Year 6 (5-10 years old).
The Early Years programme focuses on six areas of learning - personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, physical and creative development. The children are presented with materials, which will develop motor coordination, intellectual thinking, questioning and understanding as well as social skills and self-discipline.
The Curriculum in the Primary schools starting at Year 1 is based on the National Curriculum of England. Years 1 & 2 gradually offer a more formal structure, which ensures that children develop in all areas of the curriculum. Lessons aim to develop the balance of skills necessary for reading and writing. From Years 3 to 6, great emphasis is placed upon the student as a learner through practical activities and investigations. Children are exposed to the skills, concepts and attitudes that prepare them intellectually, physically, socially and morally for life at the Secondary School.
The subjects taught are - English (including the literacy hour), mathematics (including the numeracy hour), science, ICT, art, design technology, history, geography, music, physical education and drama.
Formal Russian language lessons start at Year 1 for both native and non-native Russian speakers. Within all areas of study there is a strong emphasis on cross-curricular links.
The Secondary Schools cater for students from ages 11 to 18. Students follow a coherent, carefully planned programme. Throughout Years 7, 8 and 9 students follow a wide range of courses, which are an integral part of the National Curriculum. Careful guidance is given in year 9 to enable students to choose a balanced Cambridge or London IGCSE programme. (For specific syllabus information see websites www.cie.org.uk and www.edexcel.org.uk )
All students take a common core of subjects - mathematics, English, science, modern languages (Russian, French, German & Spanish) and physical education. Optional subjects include: history, geography, art, IT, business studies, economics and music.
Within the Post Sixteen Studies students are given the opportunity to progress into the Sixth Form to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. A balanced timetable ensures that students have the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects. Success in IB exams, for which BISM is a recognised centre enables students to enter universities in all parts of the world.
