Why Internal Audit?

Internal Audit is one of the few places to really experience the inner workings of a successful, commercial and truly global organisation.

We provide assurance, objectivity and work with the independence required to provide a credible structure for everyday operations. Within Santander, Internal Audit has always been considered a business critical function.

With 800 staff worldwide, we have a growing team of 72 based in the UK. Our modern offices at Triton Square, Euston Road are conveniently located for transport links in Central London. However, we regularly travel to key offices in Glasgow, Merseyside, Leicester, West Yorkshire, Teesside, and Milton Keynes. We also frequently visit many of the branches on the high street. To deliver an effective service, we need to work closely with and completely understand the nature of our business.

The recent turbulence in financial markets and Group acquisitions has certainly increased the challenges we’re tasked with, but these demands make for an incredibly interesting time to join us!

Our approach

Teamwork is at the heart of our approach and we’re focused on delivery so people skills are essential.  Quality is central to everything that we do.  It’s a demanding but highly rewarding environment.  

Career development and training

We offer complete professional study support to those who are yet to qualify and don’t neglect those who already are. Technical and job specific training is available as required and every member of the team is allocated a ‘Performance Management Mentor’. Our ethos is very much towards developing and progressing within the Group and we operate a ‘pyramid structure’ towards promotion.
