Supporting separated families;
securing children's futures
- Our society expects parents who live apart from their children to make effective arrangements for child maintenance;
- Parents can ask us to make a child arrangement for them, if they are unable to agree their own maintenance arrangements ;
- Parents know how to access our information and support when sorting out their child maintenance arrangements and they understand the choices available to them;
- Parents agree between them an appropriate level of child maintenance that is paid in full and on time;
- Non-resident parents accept and expect to meet their child maintenance responsibilities;
- Effective child maintenance arrangements contribute to the reduction in child poverty.
